The admissions process is designed to identify bright boys who are curious about the world and have a hunger to learn.
The Examination Day
Candidates will be invited to sit tests in English, Mathematics and Reasoning. The English task remains a Dictation exercise, the Mathematics and Reasoning tasks remain similar to previous years, with the Reasoning tasks being weighted according to age. We do not publish past papers.
The Group Assessment Process
Boys who perform well in the written tests will be invited back for a half-day group assessment. Group sizes will be approximately 10. This process will involve a Maths lesson, an English lesson and group problem-solving task. At the same time, parents will have the opportunity to meet with the Head of St Paul’s Juniors. The group assessments will take place during the two weeks following the tests, enabling boys to know their results within a fortnight.
